The QA-system for COLORANA^® is based on the principles of ISO 9000.
Careful selection and approval of raw materials, the purification of magnetite, close control of every stage of the production process and quality approval of the final products ensure consistency and repeatability of COLORANA^® products. The evaluation is based on national and international standards.

The main part of the test work is carried out by Rana Grubers own QA- and R&D-Laboratory. Special tests, examinations and analysis are carried out by Norwegian and foreign R&D centres, universities, laboratories and co-operation partners.

Alongside the established QA-system, the performance and durability of COLORANA^® products are tested via:
- artificial weathering
- corrosion tests
- natural weathering (out-door disposal in Norway and Florida-test)

The products are approved according to EN 12878 for the use in construction materials.
